The Community Resource Center is Middle Tennessee's ONLY Hygiene Hub, our mission is to deliver critical basic essential items to our most vulnerable populations in seven counties in Middle Tennessee, both during times of disaster and during seasons of ongoing need.
While programs like WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) and SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) play a vital role in supporting low-income families by providing food and nutrition, there is a critical gap when it comes to basic hygiene products. Items like soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, diapers, and other personal care necessities are not covered by these government assistance programs.
Hygiene products are essential for maintaining health, dignity, and well-being. For children and adults alike, access to these items is crucial for preventing illness, promoting confidence, and fostering a sense of belonging in schools, workplaces, and communities. For students, lack of access to basic hygiene products can affect school attendance and performance. For adults, it can impact their ability to seek employment, pursue education, or engage in everyday activities with confidence.
At the CRC, we are working to bridge this gap by providing free hygiene products to students and families in need. Through community support, donations, and volunteer efforts, we ensure that everyone has access to the basic essentials that are vital for their health and well-being. Together, we can help lift the burden for families and create a healthier, more equitable community for all.
